K-9 TURBO Turbo is a six-year-old Belgian Malinois who was born in Hungary, and has been with the Rockwall Police Department since November 2019. Officer McGee has been with the Rockwall Police Department since February of 2014, and has been partnered with Turbo in the position of K9 Handler since November of 2019. Officer McGee is also a member of the Rockwall Police Department SWAT Team and a Firearms Instructor.

K-9 KRATOS Kratos is a 3-year-old Sable German Shepard imported from Poland. He has been with the Rockwall Police Department since April 2023. Officer Lamb, has been with the department since October 2019. Prior to working at the Rockwall Police Department, Officer Lamb served in the Marine Corps. Officer Lamb served as a Field Training Officer, and is a member of the Rockwall SWAT Team.

CURRENT K-9 UNIT
The K-9 Unit is centralized as an element of the Patrol Division with a primary focus on detecting narcotics/contraband, evidence recovery, criminal apprehension, tracking, building searches, high risk traffic stops, SWAT operations and handler protection. The K-9 Teams provides support to all units within the Police Department including CID, Narcotics, SWAT, Community Services and regularly assists other law enforcement agencies (Local, County, State and Federal). In addition, the K-9 Teams conduct public demonstrations for schools, civic agencies and community organizations. The K-9 teams are highly trained, carrying a certification through the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) and train each week.

HISTORY OF THE ROCKWALL PD K-9 UNIT
The Rockwall Police Department's K-9 Unit was started in 1993 as an element of the Patrol Division with one K-9 Team and the realization that a highly trained K-9 Team provided invaluable resources during narcotics searches, tracking suspects, searching structures and enhancing officer safety. The K-9 program was expanded in 2009 with the additional of a second K-9 Team. The K-9 program, which began more than 30 years ago, has proven track record of excellence and exceptional service to the Rockwall Police Department, and to the citizens and visitors to the City of Rockwall.
