Junior Police Academy

Our Middle School Jr. Police Academy is for students in the Rockwall Independent School District promoting to grades 7th and 8th in the fall of 2022.

Choose one of the two camps available (July 25-29, 2022 or August 1-5, 2022) and then download the application. Applications must be entirely filled out, with no blanks. All data will be double-checked. These forms can be scanned and emailed to npo@rockwall.com, delivered to the Rockwall Police Department and turned in (205 West Rusk, Rockwall, Texas 75087), or turned in to your Middle School S.R.O. if completed before the end of the school year.

The Junior Police Academy will be held at our new Police Department’s Community Services Office located at 2610 Observation Trail Rockwall, TX. 75032. The academy will occur Monday through Friday 8am-4pm.

Cadets will need to be prepared for average to above average physical activity throughout the week. Physical training will be a daily part of the academy so cadets should dress appropriately and bring a refillable water bottle/container to stay hydrated.

Cadets will also need to bring a lunch Monday through Thursday with pizza being provided on Friday.

During the week students will learn about the Mechanics of an Arrest, Team Building Exercises, Stop the Bleed, First Aid, CPR, Building Searches, Traffic Stops, Defensive Tactics, Crime Scene Investigation, Careers in Law Enforcement, and other topics.

Junior Police Academy will be held on the campus of Utley Middle School, which is located at 1201 T.L. Townsend, Rockwall, Texas 75087. Junior Police Academy will be taught by members of the Rockwall Police Department. This week will be as challenging as it will be fun!

The cost of the Junior Police Academy is $25 payable by cash/check (Checks must be made out to the Rockwall Police Department) on first day of camp. Each cadet will receive two t-shirts which should be worn Tuesday through Friday.
